WEEKEND CAMPING
Your Weekend. Your Camp. Your Way.
Three Camps. Three Unique Experiences. Adventure All Year Long.
The Atlanta Area Council offers year-round outdoor opportunities at Bert Adams Scout Camp, Woodruff Scout Camp, and Allatoona Aquatics Base. Whether your unit is planning a traditional weekend campout, training event, outdoor adventure, or a weekend on the water, each property offers a different setting for Scouts to explore, build skills, and make memories together.
Bert Adams Scout Camp — Comfortable Camping Close to Atlanta
Located in Covington, Bert Adams Scout Camp combines the outdoor camping experience with some of our most developed camp facilities. Permanent platform tents with electricity, an air-conditioned dining hall, shelters, and other amenities make Bert Adams a great choice for unit campouts, training weekends, district events, and Scouts who may be taking their first steps into overnight camping.
Woodruff Scout Camp — Your Mountain Home for Adventure
Escape to the North Georgia mountains at Woodruff Scout Camp in Blairsville. Cooler mountain air, beautiful scenery, wooded campsites, trails, lakes, and nearby outdoor recreation make Woodruff an ideal destination for units looking for a more adventurous weekend away. It’s a place to hike, explore, practice Scout skills, relax around the campfire, and experience the outdoors together.
Allatoona Aquatics Base — Camp by the Lake
Just north of Atlanta in Woodstock, Allatoona Aquatics Base offers 400 acres of lakefront property on Lake Allatoona. Its more primitive setting makes it a great option for units looking to practice their camping skills, enjoy a day trip, fish, or simply spend a weekend beside the water. Aquatics programs and activities are offered at designated times throughout the year.
Build Your Own Weekend
A weekend at camp doesn’t have to be a scheduled council event. Units can reserve space and build an adventure around their own goals—whether that means advancement and Scout skills, hiking, fishing, leadership development, training, service, or simply spending time together outdoors.
Facilities, available program areas, amenities, and seasonal opportunities vary by property. Review the information for each camp before making your reservation to choose the location that best fits your unit’s experience and camping goals.
From a Scout’s first overnight campout to an annual unit tradition, Atlanta Area Council camps provide a place to explore, learn, lead, and grow together throughout the Scouting year.
