WOOD BADGE
Next-Level Leadership
Wood Badge training was established by Baden-Powell in 1919 to help ensure Scout leaders received high-quality training. Since then, Wood Badge has grown into a worldwide advanced leadership program that has prepared thousands of Scouting volunteers to lead more effectively.
Wood Badge builds on the traditions and experiences of Scouting America while incorporating proven leadership and team-development concepts from both inside and outside Scouting. The course is designed for adult leaders in any registered Scouting position who want to strengthen their unit program, improve their leadership skills, and apply what they learn in Scouting, at home, and in the workplace.
RESOURCES
Participants Must:
- Attend both weekends to complete the course.
- Complete the pre-course orientation online modules, which introduce key Wood Badge topics.
- Be a registered member of Scouting America. Youth ages 18 and older may attend as long as they have completed an adult application and Youth Protection Training. Participants under age 21 do not need to be registered in an adult leadership position.
