Your Next Level of Commissioner Service

If you are a new leader who has not yet completed S.A.F.E. Guarding Youth Training, please start here.

The College of Commissioner Science is an annual supplemental training event for all Scouting America commissioners. It is an excellent opportunity for both new and experienced commissioners to strengthen their commissioner skills, expand their Scouting network, and share ideas and experiences related to unit service.

Each year, the Atlanta Area Council’s College of Commissioner Science offers classroom training on a broad range of topics relevant to commissioner service. Courses are available for Unit Commissioners, New-Unit Commissioners, Roundtable Commissioners, District Commissioners, and Assistant District Commissioners.

To encourage continued growth, the college follows an academic structure beginning with Bachelor-level courses, followed by Master-level courses, and culminating in the Doctor of Commissioner Science degree. Continuing Education courses are also offered each year for commissioners who want to continue developing their skills beyond these degree programs.
