SCOUTBOOK PLUS
Track Progress. Plan Adventures. Stay Connected.
Scoutbook Plus (formerly Internet Advancement) is Scouting America’s upgraded platform for tracking advancement, managing unit activities, maintaining calendars, and helping units stay organized.
Whether you are a unit leader recording advancement, a parent checking your Scout’s progress, or a volunteer managing activities and events, Scoutbook Plus brings many of the tools your unit uses into one connected system.
What Can You Do in Scoutbook Plus?
Scoutbook Plus supports many of the day-to-day tools units use to manage the Scouting experience, including:
- Track advancement, including ranks, adventures, merit badges, and awards.
- Review Scout progress and approve completed requirements when authorized.
- Manage unit rosters, dens, patrols, and leadership assignments.
- Plan and manage calendars for unit and sub-unit activities.
- Record activities such as camping nights, hikes, service hours, and other participation.
- Manage advancement reports and purchase orders for badges and recognition items.
- Access unit reports and other tools for leaders and advancement volunteers.
Registered youth and adults are automatically added to a unit’s Scoutbook Plus roster after their registration is processed, helping keep unit records connected with Scouting America’s membership systems.

Getting Started
Scoutbook Plus is available at advancements.scouting.org. Sign in using your existing my.Scouting username and password—the same credentials used for online registration and training.
Each person should use their own Scouting account and unique email address. Accounts should not be shared between leaders, parents, or Scouts.

For Cub Scout Packs
Scoutbook Plus helps Cub Scout leaders organize dens, manage Scouts and leaders, record adventures and rank progress, maintain calendars, track activities, and run unit reports—all in one place to manage and track pack progress.

For Troops, Crews & Ships
Scoutbook Plus helps troops, crews, and ships manage advancement, sub-units, merit badge counselor connections, calendars, activities, reports, and advancement purchases—all in one place for leaders to manage and track unit progress.

For Parents & Families
Parents can use Scoutbook Plus to follow their child’s advancement, review progress, access unit calendars, RSVP to events, and record eligible requirements completed at home. Families can also access advancement through the Scouting mobile app.
Calendars & Activities
Scoutbook Plus includes unit and sub-unit calendars to help families and leaders keep track of upcoming meetings, outings, and events. Calendar feeds can also be connected to compatible third-party calendar applications using iCal links.
Units can also record participation in activities including:
- Campouts and camping nights
- Hikes and mileage
- Service projects and service hours
These records help units maintain a more complete picture of each Scout’s participation and progress.
Merit Badge Counselors
Scoutbook Plus includes tools for locating and connecting Scouts with registered Merit Badge Counselors. Authorized leaders can search by merit badge and council or district, then assign a counselor to one or more Scouts.
Reports & Advancement Purchases
Unit leaders can use Scoutbook Plus to review advancement that is awaiting approval, prepare advancement reports, create purchase orders, and generate reports for purchasing badges and recognition items. After awards have been presented, they can be marked as awarded so they no longer appear on future purchase orders.
