Venturing is a youth development program for young people ages 14 through 20. Venturers build skills and confidence through adventure, teamwork, leadership, and service.

We encourage every adult volunteer to become a trained leader. Training will help you understand the Venturing program, build confidence in your role, and give you the tools to help your Venturers succeed.

There are two ways to complete position-specific training for a Venturing Crew Advisor or Associate Advisor:

1. In-Person Training: Learn from experienced Venturing leaders alongside other adult volunteers. In-person training provides opportunities to ask questions, share experiences, and learn practical tips for leading a successful crew. Visit the Training Calendar for upcoming dates and locations.

2. Online Training: Complete a series of training modules at your own pace through My.Scouting.

Additional Training

Depending on your position and activities, additional training opportunities include Youth Protection Training, Hazardous Weather Training, Venturing Advisor Position-Specific Training, and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS).
