Venturing Advancement
The Venturing awards program helps Venturers grow through Adventure, Leadership, Personal Growth, and Service (ALPS). Advancement provides a pathway for Venturers to set goals, develop skills, take on greater leadership responsibilities, serve others, and earn recognition for their accomplishments.
Venturing Advancement & Awards
Venturing features four core advancement awards: the Venturing Award, Discovery Award, Pathfinder Award, and Summit Award. Each builds upon the previous award and encourages progressively greater involvement in leadership, personal development, service, and the Venturing program.
Venturers earn these awards in sequence as they take on new challenges, strengthen their leadership abilities, plan and manage activities, serve their communities, and mentor others.

Venturing Award
The first step in Venturing advancement recognizes a new Venturer’s commitment to their crew and participation in crew activities. It establishes the foundation for the adventures, leadership opportunities, and personal growth ahead.
Discovery Award
Venturers begin discovering their talents while developing new skills and competencies through crew activities. Requirements introduce leadership, service, personal growth, and foundational training as Venturers become more active members of their crew.
Pathfinder Award
Venturers take on greater responsibility by planning and leading more complex crew activities, serving in leadership positions, completing additional training, and reflecting on their personal development. The Pathfinder Award challenges Venturers to put their growing leadership skills into practice.
Summit Award
Venturing’s highest advancement award. Venturers demonstrate advanced leadership and service by mentoring others, expanding their involvement beyond their crew, and planning and leading a significant service project.
Leadership Awards
Venturing provides additional recognition for outstanding leadership and service. Awards such as the Venturing Leadership Award recognize individuals who have made exceptional contributions to Venturing and helped strengthen the program for others.
