Summer Adventure & Engagement
Summer is here. Keep Scouts engaged through camps, outdoor adventures, advancement opportunities, and other activities while staying connected with families throughout the summer.
This Month’s Priorities
Strengthen Your Leadership Team for Fall
Check in with current leaders about their plans for the coming program year and identify any positions that need additional support. Summer is a good time to recruit and prepare volunteers before fall activities begin.
Get Fall Recruiting Materials Ready
Use the summer to prepare the materials your unit will need for fall recruiting. Review your messaging, update contact information and calendars, and make sure volunteers have the resources they need to welcome new families.
Stay Connected With Families This Summer
Keep families informed and involved throughout the summer with regular updates about activities, upcoming opportunities, and fall plans. Consistent communication helps maintain engagement even when meeting schedules change.
Turn Summer Activities Into Advancement
Help Scouts make advancement progress through camps, outings, service projects, and other summer activities. Review opportunities with Scouts and leaders so achievements are documented and recognized.
Keep Scouts Active All Summer
Keep Scouts engaged with camps, outings, service, advancement, and other summer activities. Regular opportunities to participate help maintain connections with families and build momentum for the fall.

Build Excitement for the Fall Program
Give Scouts and families something to look forward to by highlighting upcoming outings, activities, service projects, and other fall opportunities. Sharing the program early can help bring families back engaged and ready to participate.
Prepare to Welcome New Families
Plan how your unit will welcome and orient new families after fall recruiting. Prepare key information, identify who will follow up with parents, and make it easy for new Scouts to become involved right away.
Make Sure Leaders Are Ready for Fall
Review leader roles, training needs, and upcoming responsibilities before the fall program begins. Address leadership gaps now and make sure volunteers know where to find the training and resources they need.
Finalize Your Fall Recruiting Plan
Confirm recruiting dates, locations, volunteers, materials, and follow-up responsibilities. Make sure your pack is ready to welcome families as soon as the new school year begins.
Get Your Fall Program Calendar Ready
Review your unit calendar for the fall and confirm key meetings, outings, recruiting activities, training, and council events. Sharing dates early helps leaders and families prepare for a strong start to the program year.
